Maritime Cyber Risk Management
This 8-session syllabus has been developed to support the IMO directive that requires cyber risks to be appropriately addressed in safety management systems. It is recognised by the UK Chamber of Shipping. The course is delivered by Atheniem and Aureol Marine Ltd and covers the following topics:
1. Cyber security and safety management.
2. Threats.
3. Vulnerabilities.
4. Ship to shore interfaces.
5. Risk assessment.
6. Protection and detection measures.
7. Contingency plans.
8. Response and recovery.
The syllabus is provided on a UK National Cyber Security Centre-compliant (NCSC) version of Moodle, underpinned by secure hosting on UK-based Amazon Web Services servers, which comply with US Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 5 (IL5) cloud computing security requirements.
Meet the Trainers
Capt Brian Beckley
Having a background of over 16 years experience as a master with P&O, Brian is now regarded as a highly experienced Maritime consultant. He has travelled the world lecturing to senior officers and is also a skilled operator of both Transas & Kongsberg simulators. He has a comprehensive technical understanding of bridge equipment and regularly lectures on Ecdis as well as assessing senior officers in STCW disciplines.
Bill Adsett
BSc MA CEng CISM CRISC MIET MCGI MAPM
Bill is a consultant and leader with over 20 years of military service and over 10 years of consultancy and engineering management experience. Mostly he has worked within sensitive and classified areas of technology and capability. He is experienced in managing and consulting on CIS, surveillance, EW, cyber and avionics systems and capabilities.
